Battle of Blue Licks

History/About Us

The Blue Licks Commemorative Commission Inc was formed in 1976 and is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that exists “to assist in the commemoration and preservation of the history of the Blue Licks, Kentucky area; and to serve as a friend to Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park and its perpetuation and improvement.”  The group does this through volunteerism, fundraising and advocacy.

A Friends Group is a collection of volunteers who work together to support the park.  The group works closely with the park and the Kentucky State Parks Foundation.  Friends help the park by sharing their time, skills, equipment, contacts and/or fundraising abilities.

Currently we meet once a month on the 2nd Monday of each month.  If interested in coming to a meeting please contact us at 859-289-8339 as you need to verify that we are meeting.  Occasionally we may meet at alternative locations but generally we meet at the Park.

Membership to the Blue Licks Commemorative Commission is only $10.00/year and this monetary support allows us to help the Park in many ways.

The Officers are elected during the September Annual Meeting and the Trustees are selected from the following counties:  Bracken, Bourbon, Fleming, Harrison, Lewis, Mason, Montgomery, Nicholas and Robertson.  Please contact us if you are interested in serving as a Trustee.
